Use the porta-potties. This can not be emphasized enough. It is recommended to bring extra personal toilet paper.

Dispose of trash properly. Trash receptacles will be provided. This will reduce the attraction of wild animals and pest.

Observe quiet hours. Quiet hours will be posted. During these hours, no electrical devices, generators, or loud activities are allowed. Generators must be quiet ad determined by ITW staff, and must not disturb other attendees. Generators can no be a safety hazard.

Safely dispose of cigarette butts and matches. The fire danger can be quite extreme this time of year.

Be considerate of other campers.

Clean up your area when leaving. We want to leave this property as it was when we arrived.

Please comply with suggestions and directions issued by security and staff.

You are responsible for your own safety.

Applicable to Designated Play Areas Minimize
  • Observe smoking regulations. No smoking is permitted in the play area.
  • No prostitution or "Pro" scenes. Prostitution is described as the act of offering or providing sex for money, and is prohibited. Although not considered "prostitution", providing a play scene for a fee is also prohibited. In The Woods is all about free play.
  • DM decisions are final. The DM team is responsible for ensuring compliance with Event rules and maintaining an enjoyable environment for all. If you dispute the requests of a Monitor, discontinue the action in question and discuss it calmly. If you wish, you may appeal the matter to the ITW Director. Their decision will be final.
  • Avoid disrupting. Conversations and activities in the Play Space should be conducted so as to not disrupt play in progress. Unless involved in a scene, please keep your volume at a conversational level.
  • Observe closing times.
  • Respect scenes in progress. Do not carry on conversations or ask questions of people involved in scenes. Save your questions or comments for later. Also avoid loud conversation in the vicinity of scenes in progress.
  • Stay back. Do not encroach over the "no-go lines" around each play area. Give players space to play.
  • Report spills or breakage. Accidents happen, and we promise not to get mad, but for the safety of yourself and others, please report all spills or breakage to a staff member or Monitor. This assures the problem will be dealt with.
  • Be tidy. Please assist our clean-up crews, who are volunteers, by placing all waste in the containers provided.
  • Be consensual. "No" means "no". Do not touch another person or enter into a scene in progress without permission. Do not attempt to continue conversations if the other party is clearly uncomfortable. Put simply, treat others the way you would like to be treated.
  • Remember there is no DM supervision outside of the play area.

Applicable to All Scenes During ITW Minimize
  • Don't take risks. Play only to the level and experience of yourself and your partner. Seek instruction before trying anything new that may be risky.
  • Bloodsport rules.
    • Any activity which is likely to result in blood–shed must be conducted in designated blood-sports areas on a tarp which may be obtained from a Monitor.
    • Heavy scenes that are likely to result in airborne blood particles are permitted in designated whip areas only.
  • Some Play Isn't Allowed in the Dungeon.
    • We respect every person's right to their own kink, but must also consider "common comfort levels". Those who enjoy fire play, play rape, face-punching, or scat are requested to save them for play elsewhere.
    • No fireplay, brown, red, golden, or roman showers due to safety concerns.
    • We ask our members who wish to participate in golden showers/cocktails or adult baby play/infantilism to please reserve these highly emotional/emotive scenes for private play time in your tent or outside of the public areas.
    • No guns. Firearms, whether real or replicas, are prohibited. This includes paintball guns. Squirt guns and super soakers that look like toys are allowed outside of the commons and play areas.
  • Some Play Needs Prior Approval.
    • Electrical play(AC), Take-down scenes, and Terror scenes should be cleared with a Monitor prior to starting the scene. While cleared Violet Wand play is allowed in the play area, a power supply will not be supplied by ITW, and participants must supply their own power source.
  • Use a spotter. A spotter must be used when any person is standing in mummification or tight bondage, or where a collar is attached to a rigid item such that strangulation may occur if the person falls.
  • Safeword/sign required. A safeword must be in place for all scenes, whether you choose to use it or not. If you don't have one, the Event safeword is "SAFEWORD". When a gag is used, a safety sign must be arranged.
  • Report injuries and equipment problems. All injuries or any Event equipment problems must be immediately reported to a DM or first aid staff as appropriate.
  • Supervise all gag use. Persons wearing a gag who are unable to remove it themselves must not be left unattended.
  • Check circulation. Circulation in bound or elevated limbs or extremities should be checked often. If the skin is cold or blue, loosen the restraint or lower the part until the skin is warm again.
  • Cover up if asked. On rare occasions, police, fire, or ambulance personnel, or licensing officials may need to enter the Event. For your own privacy, cover up if requested by Event staff. (We don't care if your hottest fantasy is to flash a cop!)
  • Don't intervene. If you see something going on that disturbs you, do not intervene. Bring the matter to the attention of Security or Staff.
